A season is approaching when Polish entrepreneurs divide into two groups: those who already have a complete set of documents and those frantically looking for invoices from last year. The financial statement is the most important document summarising your company’s condition. It is not optional – it is a statutory duty, and failure to comply can be expensive.

Below is a short guide: what you need to know, your deadlines and what you actually send to the authorities.

What does a financial statement consist of?

It is a full package of information on assets and results. Standard components include:

  • Balance sheet: assets (what you have) and liabilities/equity (where the money came from).
  • Profit and loss account: shows clearly whether the business actually earns money.
  • Notes to the financial statements: explanations of figures, valuation methods and significant events.

For larger entities there is also a statement of changes in equity and a cash flow statement.

Key deadlines (2026 calendar)

For companies whose financial year matches the calendar year, the schedule is strict:

Stage Deadline Notes
Preparation by 31 March Electronic signature by management and accountant
Approval by 30 June By shareholders / owners
Filing with KRS 15 days after approval Electronic submission to the Financial Documents Repository

Why act early?

  1. Credibility: Up-to-date statements are essential for loan or lease applications.
  2. Avoiding penalties: Failure to file can mean fines and, in extreme cases, restriction of liberty or appointment of a curator for the company.
  3. Analysis: Ideal moment to see where money “leaks” and plan the next quarters.

How we prepare statements at our office

We do not just copy numbers. We work comprehensively:

  • Verification of entries: We check bookkeeping from the whole year.
  • Year-end planning: We point out lawful ways to influence the result before closing the year.
  • E-signature and filing: We guide you through electronic signatures and submission to RDF/KAS.
  • Completeness: We ensure every resolution and minutes is in place.

Our recommendation: Do not wait until March. Ministry of Justice systems can “refuse service” in the last week of deadlines due to overload. Preparing documentation in January or February means less stress and time for corrections.

Your financial year is ending and you are still unsure about the balance sheet? Write or call us. We will handle the formalities, prepare complete statements and make sure you can sleep peacefully.
